Updated 2 November 2026: Tipi.tu has been discontinued from our range. The pink Tipi.tu teepee discussed below is therefore no longer sold by Theo & Sally. Details about this model are retained as a historical comparison only and must not be applied to other tents. Browse our current range of teepees and play dens.

Choose a children’s teepee by its floor space, materials and included accessories. Measure the tent’s footprint and the area in front of the opening, then read the assembly and care instructions before deciding.

Start with the room

A tent needs more than a clear patch of floor. Your child needs access to the opening, books and toys must remain reachable, and the room’s doors and drawers must still open. Choose a workable position before choosing the colour.

The comparison below uses product information reviewed in October 2026. Check the current product page and the manufacturer’s instructions before assembly and use. It is a comparison of the stated specifications, not a product test or a ranking.

Mark the footprint and check the height

Use a temporary marking suitable for your floor to mark the stated footprint. Look at it from the door, the bed and your child’s usual play area. Test doors, drawers, the route to the bed and the space where an adult would sit to read.

A flat marking does not show the tent’s sloping sides or top. Under a sloping ceiling, measure where the top will actually stand. Pole length is a different measurement from assembled tent height. Do not change the specified assembly to make a tent fit.

The Green Garden base measurement of 120/130 cm is not an unambiguous square footprint. If space is limited, ask what this means before ordering. There is no universal extra clearance stated here for every tent; follow the specific instructions.

Read care instructions for each part

Green Garden’s textile is described as washable at a maximum of 30 °C. This is not a washing rule for every cotton tent. The current pink model’s instructions specify hand washing at a maximum of 30 °C and no bleach. A removable fabric part does not mean the entire tent is machine washable.

The product information states OEKO-TEX-certified cotton for Green Garden and the manufacturer’s OEKO-TEX certification of fabric and mat filling for the pink model. A statement about a textile or filling does not establish suitability for every age or type of play.

Decide whether you want an included mat

The pink model includes a padded floor mat. Green Garden does not include a floor mat or decorations, so you need to assess a separate floor covering and its fit. A cushion or blanket shown in a lifestyle image is included only when the contents list says so.

Check the tent fabric, poles, assembly parts, stabilising parts, mat and storage bag separately. The list for your chosen variant is the relevant one; tents do not all contain the same accessories.

Plan for play, reading and storage

Begin with a book and a favourite teddy rather than filling the tent with accessories. Leave space for the child’s own play and for putting things away afterwards. A play tent is not, by itself, a bed or a reading light. Use it for the purpose stated by the manufacturer.

Use the pink model’s stabiliser according to its instructions. Green Garden is described as foldable and supplied with a bag, but its packed dimensions are not specified here. Ask before planning storage in a particular cupboard. Keep the assembly and care instructions together.

Questions before ordering

What age is it for? The current pink model is described by the manufacturer as for children over 3 years. Green Garden’s description does not state an age. Follow the specific manufacturer’s instructions; photographs are not age recommendations.

Can two children use it together? Dimensions do not establish capacity. Neither description used here specifies a number of children.

Do 180 cm poles make a 180 cm tent? No. The pink model has 180 cm poles and a stated assembled height of 160 cm.
