Choose a ball pit by its footprint and included contents. An empty pit and a complete set can look similar in photographs but require different purchases.
Start with the package
The ball pit and ball collection includes separate balls and pits supplied without them. The MeowBaby Shelly whale pit in bouclé comes without balls. Its stated outside diameter is 90 cm and height is 30 cm, with a recycled polyester cover and polyurethane foam filling. Balls in the photograph are not included.
If you already have balls, check their suitability and size against the new pit’s instructions. Matching colours are not a substitute for that check.
Measure the surrounding space
Allow access for supervising your child and collecting balls. Doors and drawers should still open. Compare outside dimensions rather than model names or room photographs.
Compare like for like
- Are balls included, and how many?
- Which dimensions and materials apply to the selected variant?
- Is the cover removable, and what are its care instructions?
- What age recommendation and supervision does the manufacturer specify?
- What is the total including necessary accessories and shipping?
Do not invent a safe fill level from a ball count. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. A ball pit is for its stated play use, not sleeping or filling with water.
Check care separately
Bouclé, corduroy and other fabrics can require different care. Check both cover and foam cleaning instructions. This guide compares stated information and practical choices; it is not a safety or durability test. Current prices and availability are on the product pages.
